0:00 Introduction: The worst things for your brain

15:35 Learn more about brain health!

Today I’m going to share some of the top things that can severely affect your brain.

Top things that negatively affect your brain:
1. Chronic exposure to bad news
2. Toxic personalities
3. Spending too much time inside
4. Low-fat, low-cholesterol diets
5. High-grain diets
6. High-sugar diets
7. Low-stress to no stress at all
8. High-stress
9. Snacking
10. Things that decrease gut microbes
11. Consuming grain-fed animal products

One of the most surprising things on this list is grain-fed animal products. I recently participated in an interesting beef nutrient-density study. This study compared the beef from my farm to grass-fed beef and grain-fed beef, looking at factors that contribute to health and disease.

It turns out that the beef from my farm was significantly higher in phytonutrients and vitamin B3. It also had a fantastic omega-6 fatty acid to omega-3 fatty acid ratio. Not only that, but the beef I sent was low in glycation end-products and homocysteine, which are both harmful to the brain.

Grass-fed beef also did much better than grain-fed beef when looking at these same factors. My beef may have done best because I raise my cattle on pastures with a diversity of weeds for the cows to consume.

Overall, it’s crucial to consume grass-fed, grass-finished beef or 100% grass-fed beef to support your brain and your overall health.

Although this channel is mainly focused on nutrition can we expect some episodes on stress reduction, relaxation, emotions, exercises,HIIT.
These topic play a huge role in heath besides nutrition.
Everyone avoid to speak about mental health but that matters the most nowadays.

And your possible toxic self as well. You may appear that way to others. Self reflection and objective awareness and self responsibility. No one is perfect. We all are flawed.

@Self-Law believe me , over the years I’ve done a lot of self reflecting. Thanks !!

When I was growing up in England the field behind our home had a huge number of wild flowers and weeds. There is a farm outside of Witney Oxfordshire that has an ancient pasture that is being preserved for the huge number of plants. The old time farmers used to say that if the cattle felt a bit off color they knew which plants to eat to feel better but the new farmers that did not leave the old field alone did not have that benefit.

I had gestational diabetes when I was pregnant and they recommend 5-6 small meals a day with 2 of those meals being snacks. Even after I gave birth this diet was still recommended. Thanks, for the info, I’ll try OMAD instead of snacking.

    • Kristann Chigro on January 8, 2023 at 1:35 pm

I want to try it also, not sure what time, what to eat and what can I drink when not eating! Help

Very, very interesting about the “better than grass fed” beef. As a kid on the way to school there where tall weeds that grew by an electric fence, the cows would risk shock to get to them. We’d pick them and all the cows would come over for the treat.

To take care of the #1 problem, I stopped watching the CNN and Rachel M. And it has been great, so identify your own chronic bad news and block it/them for your overall cognitive health as well.
    Thanks Dr Berg

The media we consume daily has an impact on our thinking, behaviour and emotions. We have all had toxic people dust us with their poison. Sometimes it’s more like a drenching. Being able to spot their harmful behaviour is the first step to minimising their impact. I have been contemplating cutting out toxic extended family members. Thank you Dr Berg for great video again.
