@Dr. Sten EkbergHello Doctor, My Fasting Blood Sugar is 126.6 mg/dl and Fasting Insulin is 8.7 uu/ml(ECLIA method, which shows normal range is 2.6 to 24.9). According to your method HOMA IR is 2.72. What could be the reason of high fasting blood sugar? still insulin is not so high. My HBA1c is 5.6. Please make video to explain such situation where only fasting blood sugar is high and random sugar or PPBS sugar is normal. Thank you.

From my experience (I was prediabetic, A1C 6.2):
    – falling asleep after supper
    – cravings for pasta and rice sometimes for sweets
    – unexplained weakness
    – more sweating and sleep problems
    – slightly more thirsty and loosing more water

I tend to get addicted to sugar, weak to ice and chocolate (chocolate also contains caffeine which i also get addicted to). It is so bad that i keep taking sugar despite getting health issues. With sleep i am really sensitive to sugar and caffeine so i do not take it later in the day. I do not really have other addictions tho

    • 111 on August 25, 2023 at 11:43 am

So you were prediabetic… did you find out and make any changes that put & has kept you back to healthy, no-diabetic status?

    • Dr. Sten Ekberg on August 25, 2023 at 11:49 am

Thank you @krakraichbinda for sharing your experience 😄

    • Corvus Corax on August 25, 2023 at 11:55 am

@111 Those symptoms made me suspicious and I had a scheduled annual health check. And I was right.

    • 111 on August 25, 2023 at 12:11 pm

@Corvus Corax I understand that :*) I am just curious if you’ve been able to intervene through diet and maybe any other lifestyle changes, to get & stay back to non-diabetic.
I have a heavy family history of Diabetes 2, so I pay attention and try to learn as much as possible.
So I was asking if you were able to make diet and any lifestyle choices to get back to being normal, as in not pre- or any other stage diabetes. I try to convince my mom, who’s Diabetes 2, to change diet and lifestyle. She’s pretty sure it’s not possible. I don’t know about that once it reaches her stage, but wouldn’t it be possible to reverse pre-diabetes?

Doc, we just burried my 54 year old cousin of a stroke due to un-treated diabetes. He had the obvious signs but did nothing about it. He was to the point he couldn’t feel his feet and continued to work. Everyone, PLEASE, listen to Dr Sten. Thanks for the video Doc 🙏 ❤

My brother in law died this year at age 57 due to diabetes, lost his foot first then his leg. He also smoked 2 packs of cigarettes/day and was 300 pounds. Sad. Love the advise from Dr. Ekberg!!

I’ve been eating carnivore only for 12 months…blood test came back couple of weeks ago – HbAlc 6.3…since then, I’ve tested my glucose 3 times daily (fasting and post prandial) – HbAlc is between 4.8-5.0. If you are
low carb/keto/carnivore do your own testing.

    • 111 on August 25, 2023 at 11:57 am

      Is Hb1Ac different from A1C?

    • Bob Cranston on August 25, 2023 at 12:10 pm

@111 They are one in the same.

    • 111 on August 25, 2023 at 12:14 pm

      @Bob Cranston thank you 💙

    • 111 on August 25, 2023 at 12:16 pm

@Bob Cranston oh, I’m sorry… you mean do your own glucose testing? I’m trying to avoid the family history.

    • First name Last name on August 25, 2023 at 12:28 pm

Well done. I did the same. I had every extreme symptom of diabetes when I got covid. Literally couldn’t read, my body was burning from ketoacidosis, numbness etc etc. Now I have a perfect panel, 20/20 and no diagnosis after I switched to an organic diet including things like apple cider vinegar & certain supplements.

This scientific discourse is way ahead in every respect as compared to by rest of experts (with due regards to many of them),eye opener to Watchers if they are really serious and critical about their health and quality of life.Great information only those like me who have gone through this turmoil for a very long time and by following Dr Ekberg for a few months only, I am more at Ease than Dis-Ease. Thank you Dr Sten, i have been keto /low carb for 30 months after watching your videos, and it has completely😮 changed my life. I have been on a crusade ever since i got the weight loss and other health benefits, i have convinced 4 others to watch your videos all are benefiting and are hooked. From UK

  12. John Mat on August 25, 2023 at 1:31 pm

On 5/24 I started Keto. This morning, three months later down 62 lbs to 288. 4 inches off my waist. I started at two meals a day then migrated to something like a one a day with main meal @ 5pm and then healthy snacks of nuts , celery etc. @ 7 pm. Probably could have lost more but I had outpatient surgery then a two day stint in the hospital for an infection. Really have to do the long periods of fasting. This gets your insulin down and you will not have cravings.

  15. KAT on August 25, 2023 at 2:44 pm

I didn’t have any of these symptoms Except fatigue.
I was diagnosed as a “thin type 2” In 2004.
    Blood pressure’s always been 110/70. Lately it’s been 118/70.
Now I’m called a 1.5 Diabetic because I have symptoms of both one and two. I’m not overweight but I do have belly fat that I can’t get rid of with ANY diet or walking.
Bought a rowing machine, see if that works for this ugly blubber.

    • Pablo Pablito on August 25, 2023 at 7:13 pm

Go carnivore maybe 500kcl below maintenance level and do 45 min to an hr of cardio first thing in the morning decent pace super fast walk if u can almost a jogg but not quite . First cpl weeks u might not seem much of a difference but b persistent your body will realise what u trying to do in no time.

Thank you Dr. Ekberg for all your extremely informative videos! You mention that Type 1 Diabetes and Type 2 Diabetes are completely different diseases and really should have completely different names. I wanted to show this video to my friend, who has Type 2 Diabetes, but I’m sure this comparison of the two diseases will only confuse her more. As you say, the diseases are opposite is some ways.

Thank you Dr. Ekberg for putting up those helpful information video. I have known you through my parents who watch your video and recommend to me. I was diagnosed diabetic 4 months ago. I follow your video and gain knowledge of what to eat and what to avoid. I’m now on diabetes monitor and wear Libre 3 sensor. After 3 months of changing my life style and diet, I have lost 16lbs (from 124 lbs to 108lbs). My A1C came down by 4.5 after 3 months. I will go back to have follow up in another 6 months instead of 3 months. I only concern about my glaucoma. My eye doctor told me I could have vision loss and surgery. He scared me to death when I heard about vision loss and limbs amputation. 😢 Again, really appreciate for your time to put up useful videos of information. ❤❤❤

If anyone here is just starting this journey , don’t give up! I used to be 297#, about 10months ago, down to 234 today…IF/ketovore mostly…before, I could buy a claim jumper pie and eat the entire thing in an hour, I’d get those 16packs of frozen White Castle at Ralph’s and eat the entire box ..now I just don’t ever crave anything sweet-I feel sick thinking of it…sugar is literal POISON! Just heal yourself and the day will come your cravings completely disappear . God bless Dr Ekberg and everyone trying to better themselves TODAY .. all the knowledge is HERE for free!💛💛

SUPERB! Your best talk to date! I send my at-risk patients to your site because you explain it much better than I can in the exam room in 5 minutes. I even pass it on to MY doctors to pass on to their other at-risk patients. Keep up the great work!

Both my father and myself were adult onset Type 1 diabetics – around age 55 in both cases. Would like to learn more about this variant.
