@drekberg, THANK YOU for covering a little about absorption! Hardly anyone does. A lot of us are getting leaky gut and it’s cascading into autoimmun, malabsorption, thyroid, histamine, lethargy & other health problems. I need to learn how to supplement correctly so I actually get some of benefits. I moved into mostly carn-vore + some (low histamine)prebiotic foods and clearly am not absorbing as much as I should but at least now my sugar-carbs-seed oils are over with!

    • @freewillie5799 on June 28, 2024 at 5:52 pm

What do you think about the people that say an all fruit and vegetable diet is enough. They say you dont need the protein, you just need the amino acids and that’s enough to grow muscle and maintain. They argue that gorillas eat this way and are extremely strong animals. I’m a weight lifter, I cant imagine feeling well and gaining on an only fruit and veggie diet. What do you think?

Based on this, I do not recommend eating the protein found in chocolate that says high protein on the packaging or in protein boxes because it contains an amount of maltodextrin and palm oil.

@@drekberg I have come to the conclusion after watching your videos and the video of Dr. Irig Berg, that the best thing is to eat one meal that is healthy and contains all the elements, because almost all problems are related to high insulin, and since the happiness hormone comes 80% from the intestines, fasting is the most appropriate solution for life.

Don’t limit your protein or fat. I made that mistake and went down and couldn’t get back up. I’m a carnivore now and I feel the repair going on with several problems. IBS being the big one.

    • @tommyfreudenthal8084 on June 28, 2024 at 11:25 am

Wait until you realise you not only eradicated the bad guys you also f’d up the good ones and will need to build up your microbiome from the start soon. Good luck with that.

    • @KAT-dg6el on June 28, 2024 at 2:44 pm

I went carnivore felt great. Pain in my knees and back went away after two months.
My LDL was at 425 and my APO B at a dangerous level. (can’t remember the exact number)
I started eating low carb vegetables and cut back on my red meat!
LDL is 170 after a year of diet change and no meds. I haven’t had my APO B checked lately.

    • @elizabethvasquez6242 on June 28, 2024 at 3:11 pm

@nancyfahey7518 What foods would you say helped you the most with resolving your ibs symptoms??

    • @CommodoreGrayum on June 28, 2024 at 4:29 pm

@@KAT-dg6el You should listen to how you feel, not some numbers your doctor has been trained to get worried about. LDL and APO-B are irrelevant when you’re not eating crap like sugar, carbs and vegetable oil. Neither LDL nor APO-B are causative of heart disease in and of themselves. There’s a statistical association, but that association is dependent on the sample population eating unnatural modern diets. Red meat is literally the healthiest food there is. Getting a little fish and seafood here and there is good too for the DHA and copper, but red meat is the mainstay.

  17. @deepost2604 on June 28, 2024 at 1:45 pm

Being over 80, I need more protein to keep bone mass, trying to consume a min. of 100 g. per day. Yes, I’d like to lose 10 pounds, but keeping muscle is my highest priority. The protein increase shocked my bowels, but increasing fiber corrected constipation issue. Truth is aging requires working with balancing several concerns.

    • @pat4005 on June 28, 2024 at 2:31 pm

You most likely were not eating the needed amount of the animal fats along WITH the protein.

      Eating fiber is unnecessary.

The change to eating less fiber was the problem. You probably shocked it because you did it all at once, not a little decrease at a time while adding the animal fats.

I brought this up because you did not say that you were also getting the right amount of any animal fats along with the protein intake, at the same time, which leads me to believe that you do not know that you should be doing this!

Fiber is just slowing down and clogging up your digestive tract.

Eating animal protein AND the necessary amount of animal fat will allow your body’s intestinal tract to heal and absorb it.

Eating fiber that will never be used for anything is foolish.
You don’t need fiber to push out anything other than more of itself because the animal protein AND animal fat WILL BE BROKEN-DOWN AND ABSORBED!

And of course drinking enough water to keep hydrated throughout the day, (no matter what you eat), is what will keep you free from constipation.

  18. @jackiehawley1591 on June 28, 2024 at 2:26 pm

Thank you. Didn’t realise some of my problems, cramps, hair, edema etc was lack of protein. I will now up my intake of protein. Thank you again.
