You did not mention the biggest reason for the bigmed to resist fasting. Fasting is making people healthier, so they lose money on it. Just as simple and evil as that.

Just yesterday I read an article on Chrome. Recently they have done a study in China. It was a month long study. Not only did most of the people lose approximately 7/8kg during that month but the interesting findings were that the intermittent fasting resulted in changes in the brain. With MRI scans they noted positive changes in the areas of the brain controlling addictions. It also changed people’s control over their appetite. Furthermore the study indicated something fascinating… it positively changed the microbiome of the gut.

Thank you for what you doing Dr Ekberg, i have learned a lot from you.

Chimps walk five miles a day foraging for food in the wild. While refrigerators provide convenience, they contribute to our undoing. If we were hunting and gathering, it’s unlikely that obesity would be an issue. Our movement ratio is reduced by our lifestyles.

    • @LauraB.335 on April 12, 2024 at 4:35 pm

You can’t outrun a bad diet. The majority of obesity is caused by insulin resistance, which is due to the junk we eat. So, in order to reverse that, people MUST change their eating habits. There are also many people who have lost hundreds of pounds without any exercise. I’m not saying don’t exercise, but it is not nearly as important as what and when you eat in fat loss.

    • @MurielFERRAN on April 12, 2024 at 6:11 pm

      @@LauraB.335 Right Laura

    • @deepost2604 on April 12, 2024 at 7:50 pm

@@LauraB.335 I sincerely doubt that the chimps are eating potato chips. The zoos now hide their food so they have search around for it.
Much of that is to keep them curious, and antidote to depressed Chimps. Chimps also have to decide each night which tree they will sleep in. What I am positing is, this is not just about movement, but interacting with the environment. Our conveniences take a toll…and that includes the conveniences of prepared foods full of additives that are included to extend shelf life.

I started this IF back in December having watched a few of your old videos. I went from 94kg to now 78kg (I’m 1.74m so I’m targeting 72-73kg). I don’t think I ever went over the 28 hour mark without eating but I kept it at one meal a day (when I eat to my heart’s content). I do try to keep the food varied and I get my “sugar treats” usually from grapes and other fruit. The weight loss didn’t come as a huge shock given that I reduced my alcohol intake by quite a bit along with the IF. But what was truly surprising was the increase in my mental and intellectual capacity, I used to be quite forgetful (to the point that I was starting to get properly worried) but that’s all gone. I’m a lot more alert, I sleep better, and I don’t feel I’m tormenting myself in any way by sticking to 1 meal a day. Many thanks for all your videos.

I also put some visible muscle on in the process. I just eat simple and for fuel now. Eggs, veggies, meat, cottage cheese which I make myself, sauerkraut which I also make. Nuts, dark chocolate, peas and such. Just simple foods. I do eat some fruit now and then… I made good use of many of your advices! Hello from a Dane 🙂

A year ago, I followed advice from this channel, kicked carbs and sugar. That included snacks and desserts, of course. Once that was done, and the cravings settled, going to OMAD was easy. Just made sure to focus on healthy greens, veg, fish, meat and eggs for that meal and prepare it from scratch. No more ultra processed garbage. Hunger wasn’t really an issue without the carb roller coaster. I felt great and was able to go to every second day and stretch the fast several times a month. I started that year wearing 5L. Well, that’s all in the trash now, and I’m wearing brand new L size. I have energy to spare, have increased exercise and am building new routines and hobbies. No one is going to convince me intermittent fasting doesn’t work, and I am grateful for all the advice each week!!
