    I’m a retired physiotherapist and saw many cases of edema. All these patients had pre or full blown diabetes due to insulin resistance.

    Been a Keto guy since 2018. Fell off the wagon over the summer when spending the month of September in Italy. Was in hog heaven eating pasta, bread and gelato along with plenty of wine. Some days walked 13 miles and my legs and feet swelled up so bad it started to look like elephantiasis. Starting to finally get back to normal with Keto again after 2 months.

As a senior health practitioner, I really appreciate how clearly you explained the “leak” and the “pump.” One extra point many people forget is that sudden swelling in only one leg, with pain or warmth, can be a red flag for a blood clot and needs urgent medical attention. Medications like some blood pressure drugs and long standing heart or kidney issues can also worsen edema, so viewers should always discuss new or worsening swelling with their doctor, not just buy bigger socks.
